Deprivation due to lack of sustenance

By: Abdul Rasheed Talha Nomani

Thus, the innumerable blessings of Almighty God are continuously pouring down like raindrops and all the creatures spread on the earth are benefiting from them equally; The waste is being seen, it is "Rizq". Getting food on time is such a blessing that nearly twenty percent of the world's population is deprived of. It is a pity that in this crime of desecration of food and lack of sustenance. A large number of non-Muslims and non-Muslims are also equally involved. Some people are so obsessed with promoting the standard of living and pretending to be rich that they prioritize wants over needs at every point of life. , they consider extravagance and extravagance as their honor, in marriage and other events, the king tells the riches their right and just to satisfy the passion of exhibition and competition, they prepare all kinds of food, then the quality of food at the individual and collective level. There is waste and the heart does not even realize how many starving people there are who are in need of food and are suffering from hunger, they do not have even a simple thing to quench their hunger, even in the slum areas of our city many people. We are forced to live below the poverty line and we are worried about food, and we are crossing all the limits of luxury in the pursuit of luxury, yet the result is that according to the poet.

Surprising numbers

How surprising it is that on the one hand, there is a lack of food in the whole world, thousands of children are dying of hunger or malnutrition every day, and on the other hand, the situation of lack of sustenance is that ( (According to eight-year-old data) 50 percent of food in the United States alone ends up in garbage. 20 million tonnes of food is wasted in the UK. In Japan, $101.6 billion worth of food is wasted. The subcontinent has its own patterns of food wastage, with weddings at the fore. According to a recent assessment, nine hundred and fifty tonnes of food items are wasted at weddings in Bangalore alone every year. Every year there are about eighty thousand weddings and on average one third of food is wasted in each wedding. That means food worth three hundred and forty nine crore rupees is wasted in weddings. According to a study, one tenth of the amount of food that is wasted in the big cities of developed and developing countries can provide two meals to millions of people dying of hunger in the world. This person is indifferent to the fact that at this very moment countless people are dying of hunger. The figures of people dying of hunger are sobering and lamenting the indifference of modern man. In North Korea alone, five million people have died due to famine, while more than 1.5 million people are Africans. Countries are close to dying.

The above-mentioned details related to lack of sustenance and wastage of food were from Western or non-Islamic countries, now let's see what is the plight of Saudi Arabia, which is known worldwide as an Islamic state?

According to the latest report of August last month, the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Fazli, revealed that the rate of food wastage in the Kingdom has increased to more than 33 percent and the food worth about 40 billion riyals is wasted in the Kingdom annually. is wasted. The environment minister called for balance in food procurement, mutual cooperation to prevent food wastage, cost of food and to avoid wastage and to remember the sanctity of food, a highly effective way to reduce food intake. Emphasizes the importance of approaching the method. (Al-Arabiya.net)

In short, at a time when the world is suffering from epidemics and economic crisis, there is an urgent need to improve the food safety system; In order to meet the food needs of the people in any kind of calamity. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, one-third of the grain produced worldwide is wasted every year, while the amount of wasted food is about 1.3 billion tons. If this trend is not stopped, it will be wasted by 2030. The amount of food produced will exceed 02 billion tons

Appreciation of sustenance and Islamic teachings

Rizq is an Arabic word, which literally means "Gift", whether it is worldly gift or hereafter. In the Arabic language, sustenance is said to be every gift of God. Wealth, knowledge, power, time, grain, all blessings are included in sustenance. Therefore, everything that benefits a person in one way or another is sustenance. Sustenance is a blessing of Allah Almighty, which Allah Almighty has reserved the authority to distribute. Allah Almighty says

Undoubtedly, Allah is the Sustainer, the Sustainer

 (Al-Dhariyat: 58)

In the Holy Qur'an, the servants have been ordered to take full advantage of the blessings of Allah; but do not exceed the moderation. do not like

 (Al-A'raf: 31)

It was said on another occasion

Eat of the pure things We have provided you with and do not overdo it, lest My wrath descend upon you, and whoever My wrath descends upon, surely he perished (went to hell).(Tah: 81)

Islam has commanded moderation in spending and forbade extravagance and wasteful spending, and this is its prescribed path, and it is possible for people to follow it; Those who have the wealth of contentment and the spirit of faith. It was narrated from Hazrat Aisha (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) came to my house, he (PBUH) saw a piece of bread lying on the ground, he (PBUH) picked it up and cleaned it. ate, and said: Aisha! Treat the favors of Allah Ta'ala who become your neighbours, in a good way (if you do not treat them with good manners, they will run away) and they will not return to the people from whom they run away.

(Ibn Majah)

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that Satan comes to you at the time of every work. It even comes at meal time. So when one of you falls, pick it up. Remove the dirt that is attached to it, then eat it and do not leave it for Satan. When finished, lick your fingers, you don't know which part of the food is blessed. (Muslim)

It is in Tabaqat Ibn Saad that Umm al-Momineen, Hazrat Maimunah (RA) found a pomegranate seed while walking on the road. He picked it up as soon as he saw it and said: Allah does not like the one who wastes sustenance. That is, if I had not picked it up, no one would have seen it, so this thing would have been lost and my Allah does not like the loss of sustenance. It was found that the shame we feel in eating and using the fallen morsels or stored things, this shame is not correct; rather, the sign of modesty is that a person does not let the blessings of Allah be wasted, and this is the source of sustenance. will increase.

In this age of lack of sustenance, as Muslims, it is our first responsibility to remember the blessings of Allah and appreciate each and every blessing. Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) says that once the Prophet (PBUH) left the house at a time when he did not go out and no one visited him at that time, then Abu Bakr (RA) came to him. When he arrived, he asked: Abu Bakr, how did you come here?

He said: Messenger of Allah! I came out to meet you and to see your face Anwar and to greet you. After some time, Umar (RA) also came to serve you. He asked: Umar! How'd you get here?

On this he complained of hunger, he said: "I am also somewhat hungry, then they all came together to the house of Abul Hisham bin Tihan Ansari, he had a lot of date trees and goats; But they did not have any servant, these people did not find Abul Haitham at home, so they asked his wife: Where is your husband?

He replied that he had gone to fetch fresh water for us, while the conversation was going on! Abul-Hisham came with a full musket, he kept the musket and embraced the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: My parents are devoted to you, then he took them all to his garden and a bed for them. Then they went to a palm tree and brought a bunch of dates from there and placed it in front of the Messenger of Allah. He said: "Why didn't you pick fresh dates from it and bring them for us?" He said: Messenger of Allah! I wanted you to choose from among them, or I said that you should choose the ripe dates from the raw dates, however, everyone ate the dates and drank the water they brought, after that the Messenger of Allah The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this is one of the blessings that will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection, and those blessings are: the cool shade of the garden, the Good dates and cold water.” (Bukhari Sharif)

Avoid wasteful spending in your spending while invoking blessings! Our effort should be that we ourselves do not underestimate sustenance and worry about protecting our subordinates from it. Can be treated. At this time, if in the time of abundance of wealth and wealth, we will show signs of loss of sustenance and desecration, then God willing, with the passage of time, we will not be destitute, poor and bankrupt.
